For this project, we turned two empty bedrooms into a luxe closet lounge. The client’s love of midcentury design informed the direction for this project, as well as his
own abstract paintings by LA artist Steven Dick. We sourced all other furniture and décor, including several stunning vintage pieces: a midcentury Drexel lowboy dresser, a 1950s Paul McCobb brass “X” base tallboy, and a 1970s Swiss leather rocking chair by Paul Tuttle. The walls and trim were refreshed with a colorwash of warm white paint that creates a perfect backdrop for the walnut furniture and pops of color in the décor. We used some antique pieces as a nod to the colonial era of the home, and added warmth and texture with organic elements like live edge floating shelves, plants, and textiles. Vintage brass fixtures were added to the sink, which we turned into a wet bar space
with the addition of a brass bar cart and colorful vintage glassware.
